The Chicago Bulls have made a key addition to the backcourt, signing veteran point guard Goran Dragic to a one-year deal in 2022 NBA free agency. The deal was first reported by Jordan Schultz, who was informed of the deal by Dragic's agent Bill Duffy of BDA Sports.

Dragic featured in just 21 games last season, spending time with the Raptors and Nets. He was traded by the Raptors to the Spurs at the NBA trade deadline and was bought out by San Antonio, which cleared the path for him to join the Nets.

He played in just 16 games in Brooklyn, averaging 7.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game. He struggled shooting the ball, particularly from 3-point range, where he converted at just a 24.5% clip on 3.1 attempts per game.

Dragic is now set to join a stellar Bulls' backcourt that already consists of the likes of Zach Lavine and Lonzo Ball, as well as Coby White, Alex Caruso, and Ayo Dosunmu.

While his best years are behind him, Dragic can certainly provide solid minutes off the bench, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Ball's knee injury, which has not healed as expected. Dragic was an All-Star with the Miami Heat in 2017-18 when he averaged 17.3 points, 4.8 assists. and 4.1 rebounds per game. It was the lone All-Star appearance of his 14-year NBA career.

Across his 14 seasons in the NBA, Dragic has played for five teams, including the Heat, Raptors, Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Houston Rockets. His longest stint came in Miami where he played for seven seasons from 2015-2021. The 36-year-old will now look to provide meaningful minutes for his sixth NBA franchise after latching on in Chicago with the Bulls.
