Jason Williams watched how Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls dominated the '90s. Still, he doesn't think MJ would be as great if he played in the modern day NBA.

During a recent interview with BroBible, Williams shared why he think Jordan would have a harder time playing in today's NBA compared to the '90s era where the prevailing thought was players were more physical and rules were not as protective of players as they were this time around.

Williams does believe Jordan would still be “great” and an All-Star caliber player, but he believes the changes in defense and the overall talent in the league would have prevent him from reaching the same level of success as he did with the Bulls back in the day.

“Obviously, he’s going to be great,” Williams shared. “I mean, don’t get me wrong. But I think it would be a little harder for him now because like you said the defenses have changed, and now he’s going to have three guys on the same side of the floor when he has the ball on the wing, whereas back in the day you just had one guy.

“Anybody in the NBA is going to beat anybody one on one, let alone Michael Jordan. I think he’d be great, be an All-Star for sure, but not the Michael Jordan that he was back then if that’s fair to say.”

Simply put, Jason Williams highlighted how the game is so much different compared to where it was before. With that said, there is definitely some merit with his rather hot take on Michael Jordan.

Still, there's really no way to find out how a player would fare on a different era. The NBA is ever evolving, with rule changes and playing style a big factor on how the game is played.

Nonetheless, as what many believe, Jordan can play in any era and succeed. For one, many could say that Kobe Bryant–who patterned his game and mentality to His Airness– thrived in the modern NBA, so it won't be far-fetched to say the Bulls icon would be as successful or even better than the late LA legend if he was in the league today.
