Tomas Satoransky is exactly the player Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen is looking for — someone who is fearless and will “play his balls off” night in and night out.

The Bulls acquired Satoransky in a sign-and-trade deal with the Washington Wizards in free agency. A restricted free agent, Satoransky agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the Windy City franchise.

While Satoransky isn't exactly a household name, the Bulls like what he brings on the court. And for an old-school coach like Boylen who values hard work and grit, it's no wonder why he was high on bringing the Czech guard to the United Center.

“Here’s what I love about ‘Sato,’ ’’ Boylen told Jim Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “He knows he’s going to play because he doesn’t have any fear. See, we have guys in this league who are scared — scared of competition, scared of competing, scared of, ‘Am I going to play?’ ‘Sato’ has no fear he’s going to play. He doesn’t worry about that. When he plays, he’s going to play his balls off, and there’s beauty in that.’’

Satoransky's draft rights were taken by the Wizards in the 2012 Draft. However, he didn't cross the pond until the 2016-17 season. His first full season of NBA action saw him play 12 minutes a night, averaging 2.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Satoransky eventually improved as he got acclimated to the NBA's pace, and his minutes subsequently increased due to that. His third and final season with the Wizards saw his numbers balloon to 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 27 minutes of action.

He will be a key role player in a young and hungry Chicago team, and Bulls fans should feel blessed to have him on the team.
