The Atlanta Hawks have the first overall pick in the NBA Draft this season, and they have a decision to make in regards to what they want to do with it. This year's draft class is different than most years. There isn't one player that is far and away the best prospect and the surefire number one pick like last year with Victor Wembanyama. There are options for the Hawks with that first pick, and they also could trade the pick to someone else. A lot could happen, and Chicago Bulls point guard hopes that the Hawks get worse.

Lonzo Ball is currently with the Bulls, but he hasn't played in a long time as he has been battling a serious knee injury. Ball last played in January of 2022, but he is working hard to get back on the court for Chicago.

The Bulls and the Hawks were neck and neck this past season in the standings all year long, and they ended up playing each other in the play-in tournament. The Bulls were the nine seed and the Hawks were the 10 seed, so the game ended up taking place in Chicago. The Bulls got the win and eliminated the Hawks.

Now, the Hawks have a chance to make some big moves with the top overall pick in the NBA Draft. Ball was asked what he thinks they should with the pick during an episode of his podcast, What An Experience, and his answer shows how little he cares for Atlanta.

“I don’t give a f**k, I hope they get worse to be honest,” Ball said during the show.

Ball clearly doesn't really care what the Hawks do with the pick, but he is not hoping for the team to have success in the future. Both Chicago and Atlanta were on similar levels this past year, and it will be interesting to see which team can be better in the future.

Everyone is wondering when Lonzo Ball is going to return to the court, whether it is with the Bulls or not. He has been battling this knee injury for two years now, and it shouldn't be much longer before we see him play in a game again. During the first episode of his podcast, he said that he was at about 70 percent.

“It's coming along, man,” Ball said on the show. “Week by week. It's improving, so that's all I can ask for. Still not where I want it to be. Out of 100 (percent), I'd say I'm about 70 (percent). Good enough to play, but it could still get better. I still got a long summer ahead of me. But definitely looking forward to the future.”

Bulls executive VP of basketball operations, Artūras Karnisovas, also discussed Ball's health as the team's end-of-season press conference, and he noted that they are going to keep an eye on his health for the next couple months and go from there.

“We’re just going to wait and see his progression the next couple of months,” Artūras Karnisovas said, according to an article from NBC Sports. “He’s progressing well. Everything is looking with no setbacks. So we’ll see where he’s at in a couple of months.”

It's been a long time since Lonzo Ball has played in an NBA game, and hopefully he can return to the court in 2024.
