The Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves were the latest teams to turn the NBA world on its head. Friday afternoon, the Jazz agreed to trade Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro and four first-round draft picks. After news of the trade surfaced, people from across the NBA lost their minds with the package Minnesota gave up. But Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic had a different take.
He took a more comical approach to the news.
Glad my offer for the house I found in Salt Lake got rejected then https://t.co/lDUaXjMUTJ

Vucevic hilariously tweeted “Glad my offer for the house I found in Salt Lake got rejected then.”

The Bulls big man early on was rumored to be on the trading block. Utah was a supposed destination for Chicago's All-Star center. That now appears to be dead with the Gobert trade to Minnesota.
The Bulls made their own waves on Friday with news that they re-signed Zach LaVine to a massive five-year, $215 million extension. They also signed unrestricted free agent Derrick Jones Jr. to a two-year, $12 million deal with the second year being a player option.
Chicago has a lot of money tied up in their stars entering this upcoming season. Vucevic, LaVine, Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan combine for almost $100 million cap hit for 2022-2023. That doesn't leave a lot of flexibility without soaring into the luxury tax. But Bulls general manager Marc Eversley might need to do just that.
The core as it is currently constructed, helped produce a winning season, going 46-36. But they struggled against the best teams in the NBA. So, it will be interesting to see what the Bulls do from here.
