Chicago Bulls big man Robin Lopez is one funny dude. On Wednesday, the 30-year-old brought the Halloween spirit to the United Center when he literally rode in as Elliott from “E.T.”
The 7-foot center was in full character as he even pedaled his way into the arena on a bike that was complete with a carrying basket containing E.T himself. We’re certainly giving Lopez points for creativity here.

It appears that Lopez has a knack for role-playing, as this is not the first time we’ve seen him in full costume. Last year, the former Stanford standout starred in a Bulls parody video dressed as Gaston from “Beauty and the Beast.” He slayed that role, too, which leads us to believe that he may have a career in Hollywood (or Broadway?) after basketball.
Unfortunately for Lopez, it was his fifth straight DNP-CD on Wednesday night as he has become surplus to the requirements of the team this season. The 11-year veteran participated in the first three matchups of the Bulls — all losses — before making his way to head coach Fred Hoiberg’s doghouse.
In his three appearances this campaign, Lopez has averaged only 3.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.7 blocks in 17.7 minutes off the bench.
The arrival of rookie Wendell Carter Jr. has been a nightmare for Lopez as he has been forced to take a backseat in favor of the promising youngster. Nonetheless, his fall from grace has been somewhat surprising given how he started 145 games for the Bulls over the last two seasons, averaging 27.2 minutes per contest. This season, he has become the third-string center for Chicago, with Cristiano Felicio overtaking him in the pecking order.
The Bulls are reportedly looking to deal Lopez, so it would not be surprising if he makes his way out of Chicago in the near future.
