The Chicago Bulls have found a solid addition from the NBA buyout market in veteran center Tristan Thompson – and Zach LaVine is all for the move.
The Bulls All-Star was vocal on what he feels Tristan Thompson brings to the table for Chicago.
Via Julia Poe of The Chicago Tribune:
“He’s going to bring another championship-level guy where he’s been in these games before,” LaVine said Saturday during All-Star media availability. “He can help us in these situations.”
Tristan Thompson is a perfect complement to Nikola Vucevic off the bench. While Vooch is a former All-Star and a much better offensive player, Thompson is a more rugged defender and has NBA Finals experience banging bodies in the paint.
Tristan Thompson will be able to provide a different look at the center position, which is critical in an Eastern Conference field that features guys like Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“With AK and Marc, obviously, they’re going for it,” LaVine said. “They trust in me, they trust in DeMar, they trust in this group, and it just means a lot going into the last year of my contract that they’re putting a team around us that can compete.’’
The Chicago Bulls are fighting for the East's top spot and look like a true contender this season. Zach LaVine is clearly ready to make some noise with his ever-improving club.
