Talk about bad luck for the Chicago Bulls. Their incredibly hot start to the season hit an unfortunate speed bump when multiple players were placed on the health and safety protocols list. A COVID outbreak has plagued the team, and although no players are suffering serious symptoms, it's forced the majority of the rotation to sit out.

Because of this, the Bulls organization has reportedly taken measures to see if they can mitigate the damage to their record. According to long-time Bulls insider K.C Johnson, Chicago has tried to appeal to the NBA to postpone their next game against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. (via Daniel Greenberg)

However, the league isn't budging and making concessions for the Bulls. Their reasoning: the Bulls still have more than eight players they can field on the court. They have nine active players left in their roster, including Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso. The league has a rule where if a team has eight or less players active, the game would be postponed. That rule seems to be strictly enforced till today.

The list of Bulls players entering the COVID-19 health and safety protocols seems to grow every day. Earlier this day, All-Star guard Zach LaVine entered the protocols, bringing the total to NINE players who are set to miss games. Notable names in the Bulls' COVID list are LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Derrick Jones Jr, and Coby White.

The COVID outbreak on the Bulls roster has people clamoring for Adam Silver to step in and prevent any more spread of the virus. While most of the players are vaccinated, there's still a chance for vaccinated players to be infected. This has raised worries of a potentially league-wide outbreak happening.
