Lauri Markkanen's star shone brightly during his rookie season, and the Finnish sharpshooter is a budding superstar. The young Chicago Bulls big man is more than just a great player, as evidenced by his visit to some of his fans in Finland. Markkanen surprised the kids at a basketball camp in Helsinki with a surprise visit and posted the video to Twitter.

The Finnish star played his high school ball at Helsinki Academy in Helsinki, so he's no stranger to that city.

Markkanen's rookie season was a resounding success in Chicago. He made the All-Rookie first team and showcased his deft scoring touch all season. The 7-footer is a threat from deep and became the fastest player to reach 100 made 3s in NBA history. The big man's ability to stretch the floor is his greatest asset.

His defense and rebounding certainly leave something to be desired, but as he matures and gets stronger, these facets of his game are sure to improve.

The Chicago Bulls have to be thrilled with the youth in the frontcourt. Markkanen showed limitless potential in his rookie season and will now be joined by Wendell Carter Jr. The Duke University product is an offensively gifted big man who plays well with the ball in his hands.

Carter's ability to pass out of the high and low post should fit seamlessly with Markannen's ability to score from anywhere on the floor.
