Activision revealed through a tweet that they are now developing a mobile version of Call of Duty Warzone. This will be a stand-alone title divorced from Activision's earlier Call of Duty Mobile release. However, it doesn't seem like Call of Duty Warzone Mobile will be gracing our smartphones any time soon, as the announcement also indicated that Activision is currently hiring more developers to help out on the project. Specifically, Activision announced that they are in need of Network Programmers, System Programmers, UI Programmers, UI artists, Senior Producer, Producer, Associate Producer, Senior Product Manager, and Product Manager. If you're such a person who'd like to contribute to the development of this game, check out their job listings here.
Activision did not specify nor give a hint on when we could expect Call of Duty Warzone Mobile to arrive. Our guess is still in late 2022 or early 2023, based on the roles being hired right now. In any case, we can tide the wait by playing Call of Duty Mobile instead, or even the limited-release version of Apex Legends Mobile. Check out our Apex Legends Mobile hands-on impressions here.
