The Arizona Cardinals aren't in contention of making the playoffs but that isn't going to stop one of their key offensive contributors from playing. According to Ian Rapoport, Christian Kirk is expected to play on Sunday versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Kirk has been nursing an ankle injury for the majority of the season. Earlier this year, the second-year wide receiver actually missed three games due to an ankle ailment.
Nevertheless, he was able to return in Week 8 and hasn't been inactive for the Cardinals since. Furthermore, it appears that Kirk's injury isn't serious enough for him to sit out against the Seahawks.
In his sophomore season in the NFL, Kirk has caught 61 passes for 649 yards and three touchdowns. Surprisingly enough, all three of his touchdowns came in the same game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10.
With Arizona not fighting for a playoff spot, everything that happens in the final two weeks can be used as momentum into the 2020 season. Therefore, Kirk seems to be determined to finish the year on a high note for the Cardinals.
The last time that Kirk faced the Seahawks, he managed to total only four receptions for 37 yards. The Texas A&M product will undoubtedly want to put together a better outing the second time around.
Regardless of what happens Sunday, Kirk has already had a better campaign than he had in 2018. Despite the Cardinals' dismal record, the young wide receiver can call this season somewhat of a success.
While Kirk is slated to play, we could be witnessing Larry Fitzgerald's final game in Seattle.
