A disturbing 2016 video of Cassie and Diddy resurfaced on Friday (May 17), showing the Bad Boy Records mogul appearing to assault his then-girlfriend near an elevator in a hotel and then dragging her back to their room. Since the video obtained by CNN went viral, fans of Cassie have taken to social media to offer support, including her husband Alex Fine.

“I want my kids and every kid to live in a world that’s safe for women and girls, protects them and treats them as equals,” Fine wrote via Instagram. “To the women and children, you’re not alone, and you are heard. if you need help call the domestic violence hotline at (800) 799-7233.”

Fine then shared a letter he wrote “awhile back but the words ring true not just today but everyday.”

“Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect these people aren’t men,” the letter read. “As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the upmost regard. Men who hurt women hate women.”

Fine, who was Cassie's personal trainer, tied the knot back in 2019. The couple share two daughters, Frankie and Sunny.

While the LAPD is aware of the video, there is not an open investigation for Diddy at this time.

“We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles. We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” the statement posted on Instagram reads.

“If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted. As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services,” the district attorney’s office said.

Cassie and Diddy dated for 11 years before ending their relationship in 2018. Last year, the “Me and You” singer filed a lawsuit against the Grammy-winning producer, alleging sex trafficking, rape, and physical abuse. The lawsuit was settled one day after the lawsuit was filed.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Cassie's statement read at the time.

Diddy's statement read, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Cassie has not spoken out amid the resurfaced video, and neither has Diddy at the time of this writing.
