The Boston Celtics continued some struggles at TD Garden when the Cleveland Cavaliers blew them out in Game 2. However, the Celtics got it back on track by winning both games in Cleveland to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Celtics must shake off their home issues to win an NBA Championship, and finishing the series on Wednesday night would be a great start. It is time to continue our NBA odds series with a Cavaliers-Celtics prediction and pick.

The Cavaliers squeezed past the Magic in the first round, but they knew it wouldn't be easy against the Celtics. The Celtics won two of three during the regular season, as the Cavaliers managed to get a one-point win at home in the last game. The Cavaliers have fallen into injury troubles, with Jarrett Allen out indefinitely with a rib injury and Donovan Mitchell missing Game 4 with a calf ailment. Allen likely won't play, but if Mitchell misses again, Game 5 could be Cleveland's swansong. The odds are stacked against them, as they are +900 to win the game outright.

The Celtics are 14-14 at home in the postseason over the last three seasons, which is hard to believe when you think about home advantages in Boston sports. The Boston Bruins have also lost six of their last eight home playoff games over the past two seasons, leading people to believe that Boston is beginning to lose their edge. Jayson Tatum's struggles in TD Garden may be the most concerning trend. During this postseason, Tatum averaged 27 points per game on the road so far, while he has just 22 points per game at home.

Why The Cavaliers Could Cover The Spread/Win

The spread in Game 4 began at -8.5, but upon news of Mitchell missing the game, they rose to -11.5. There weren't many people who gave the Cavaliers a chance at staying in this game without Mitchell, but they ended up covering the initial spread as well. It took some luck, with a late Caris Lavert shot, to get below the number, but the bettors will take a win any way they can get it.

The Celtics beat the Cavaliers by seven in Game 4 and now return home to a place where they've struggled to win games. The last time these teams played on this court, Cleveland won by 24 points. Is the absence of Donovan Mitchell significant enough that they can go from winning by 24 to losing by 16?

Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread/Win

The Celtics aren't used to playing in close games. Game 4 was the first time since an April 5th regular season game against Sacramento that the Celtics had to play in a clutch-time game, which measures when a game is within five points in the final five minutes. If you think the Celtics will take care of business and win this series, it's fair to believe it will be in a blowout. However, the oddsmakers have put this game at a number that brings in a backdoor cover.

Final Cavaliers-Celtics Prediction & Pick

This game will be a perfect opportunity for the Celtics to get over their home woes and finish this series. The Celtics will need to figure it out at home before the Eastern Conference Finals and definitely before a possible matchup with the Denver Nuggets in the Finals.

However, we say the Cavaliers should come in under this 15.5 number. This spread opened at too high of a number to back the Celtics, especially after seeing them lose by 24 last time on home court.
