Taylor Swift always goes above and beyond to protect her fans. On Friday (June 7), during the night of one of her Edinburgh, Scotland tour dates, Swift refused to continue with the concert until one of her fans received the help they needed.

During her surprise song set, Swift alerted security that a fan needed assistance. According to a video shared online, Swift is heard saying, “She's right there. I’m just gonna keep playing until somebody helps them, I’m gonna be singing this song.” As Swift continued to pause her set, she assured the fan in distress and the fans around her that she was “going to keep talking” until the fan got the help she needed. An update on the fan has not been disclosed at this time, nor their exact reason for distress.

Other Times Taylor Swift Has Helped Fans During Her Concerts

This is not the first time the singer has sprung into action to help her Swifties during her concerts. Most recently, during her tour stop in Madrid, Swift was performing “Betty” when she saw that a fan was in trouble.

“Ayuda por favor,” Swift said, speaking in Spanish, which translates to “please help” in English.

During another time at the pop star's concert on May 24 in Lisbon, Portugal, Swift called for security to help a fan in the audience.

“Ajuda por favor. Help them please,” is heard saying in a fan video in the direction of the fan. As of this writing, there is no information surrounding the cause of the fan's distress.

During her concerts, fans have banded together to help one another by drawing attention to the stage with their flashlights from their smartphones. Swift confirmed this was the reason why fans were shining their lights in a particular area of the crowd from the stage.

“When you guys are holding a bunch of flashlights up in a group does that mean people need help? Say yes if it means [that],” Swift asked the crowd which they responded. “OK, if I see that again I’m gonna try to put it out.”

With the aforementioned events, fans didn't have any fatalities reported but unfortunately back in Brazil last year, a fan died during the singer's concert. According to a forensics report by the Associated Press, 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides died from heat exhaustion. Benevides passed out during “Cruel Summer,” the second song Swift had played during the Nov. 17 concert.

Time For Fun posted to X (formerly known as Twitter). According to the report, it was 40 degrees Celsius (105 Fahrenheit) and fans were not allowed to bring water into the venue.

However, T4F, an organizer for the concert, said that they “distributed thousands of bottles of water,” and one of Benevides' told a local media outlet that they were given water bottles while waiting in line.

Swift spoke about the incident via her Instagram Story and gave her condolences to the family.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift began her handwritten note on her Instagram Story at the time.

“I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” she continued. “There’s very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.”
