A Paris tour stop on Friday (May 10) during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour went viral after a baby was lying on the floor in the pit section. Fans went to social media to voice their concerns about how a baby that age was allowed in the venue in the first place.
In a since-deleted post per Us Weekly, an X user posted: “Not to be one of those people but I would genuinely call security if I saw a baby in the pit because it is NOT safe there.”
One person responded via X: “As a mom of a baby that’s about this size, i couldn’t imagine [bringing] them into a concert at all. I understand sitters are hard to find, so if you really needed to bring them, you shouldn’t be in the pit.”
Another user responded that the baby did have ear protection despite previous reports and fan responses to the incident.
“I’m not defending the mom’s decision but the baby is wearing ear protection, you can see it better in this picture,” they wrote on X.
A woman who allegedly is the cousin of one the parents added her opinion on the situation.
“This is my cousin’s baby,” she wrote via X on Saturday (May 11). “Yes, he is fine. Yes, he had his own ticket. No, they aren’t usually this lacking in parenting judgment. Bad moment. Chill out, concerned Floor Baby fans.”
The discourse online prompted the Paris venue to respond. A spokesperson for La Défense Arena said per Page Six: “general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult. Under 18 children remain under their legal guardian responsibility, its venue policy. For spectators with a young child in the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders.”
Taylor Swift Returns To The Eras Tour
The Friday concert was Swift's second concert since her return to the Eras Tour after a two-month hiatus. The singer was in Paris for four nights which ended on Sunday (May 12) and will head to Stockholm, Sweden to perform at the Friends Arena for three nights starting on May 17. Swift loved the energy in Paris and penned the fans a sweet letter following her departure from the city.
“This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical,” Swift wrote on Instagram with photos capsulizing her tour experience. ‘To my crew, fellow performers, and band who worked tirelessly in their break to concoct this surprise for you – but mostly for the fans in Paris. I’m so thankful that it was you we got to show this to for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion, and love. I’m SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour. See you very soon, Stockholm!”
