The Boston Celtics have agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with free agent center Enes Kanter, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The deal will have a second-year player option.

His acquisition will help make up for the loss of center Al Horford, who opted out of the $30.1 million remaining in the last year of his contract, opting for a long-term deal with the Philadelphia 76ers for $109 million over four years.

Kanter's younger brother Kerem recently took to Twitter to celebrate his older brother's big signing:

Kanter enjoyed a great season with the Portland Trail Blazers after being bought out by the New York Knicks, who had prioritized their youth growth over winning games.

The Turkish big man soon found the bench under new coach David Fizdale, and eventually awaited a mutual resolution to help bring him to a contender.

Kanter played a big role stepping in for an injured Jusuf Nurkic, helping carry the Blazers to the Western Conference Finals, where they were swept by the Golden State Warriors.

The 27-year-old posted strong averages of 13.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, ones he can put to use for the Celtics from now on, as he continues to search for his rightful place in the league.

The Celtics got their first choice in free agency after agreeing to sign Kemba Walker to a four-year, $141 million deal. Both Walker and Kanter will take part on a much-different looking team than the past two years.
