The Boston Celtics narrowly defeated the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals to book a date with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Boston posted a tenacious effort en route to the victory. Jimmy Butler and the Heat gave all they had, but ultimately came up just short. Celtics coach Ime Udoka was proud of Boston's effort. However, he dropped a truth bomb on the overall bigger picture following Boston's Game 7 win.

“We don't celebrate Eastern Conference championships in the Celtics organization.”

The Boston Celtics are a historic organization that prioritize winning. Although Ime Udoka hasn't been their head coach for long, he understands what it means to be a Celtic.

“It would be all for naught if we go lay an egg in the Finals,” Udoka added. “Guys were quick to celebrate but quick to flip the page.”

He then discussed the Celtics matchup against the Warriors.

“We played Golden State pretty well this year,” Udoka said. “Obviously, we beat them pretty bad late in the season when we were kind of rolling. Early in the season, took a close loss and we had some guys in and out. They had a big lead early but we fought our way back. Story of the season, we've competed well against the best teams and obviously you have to do that to make it to this point now.”

The Celtics will aim to win their first NBA Finals since 2008. However, it will be anything but easy against a Warriors team that has won 3 championships over the past decade.
