Since joining the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant has gotten a lot of hate from all corners. Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving, who has gotten a lot of criticisms himself since requesting a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers last summer, thinks the bashing needs to stop.

Irving was a guest in The Bill Simmons Podcast where he talked about the back-to-back Finals MVP.

“Kevin Durant has a presence about him that’s really unassuming but he dominates games. […] And I think that in and of itself was like, ‘OK, now I got the championship, now I just wanna work on my craft.’ And now, of course, this platform we’re on as athletes becomes like, everyone starts attacking like, ‘NO, YOU’RE NOT ENOUGH. You’re not this, you’re not that.’ And it’s just like, ‘Bro, give it a break. Seriously. Let it go.’ Yes, he’s on an incredible team but he’s also the best player on that team.”

Irving realizes that social media has given everyone a voice and that athletes like them are often the target of so-called keyboard warriors.

A lot of people have called Durant weak for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder and joining a Warriors team that is coming off a 73-win season. But after winning the last two NBA Titles and being Golden State's top guy in those June conquests, there isn't much left to say negative about Durant.
