Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown maybe a sophomore, but he’s like a savvy veteran when he’s on the floor. That’s partly because he’s played in high-intensity playoff games right in his very first season in the NBA, when the Celtics reached the Eastern Conference finals. While the pressure of playing in the league does not bother Brown, offending another player's feelings does – or so it seems based on a hilarious story told by Philadelphia 76ers sniper J.J. Redick during an episode of Bill Simmons’ The BS Report podcast, per Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

Hilarious story from Redick on Jaylen Brown’s trash talk in here:

“When we played in London, Jaylen was guarding me in that game. At some point in the second half, he called me a bitch. I looked at him and was like, ‘I don’t play that.’ He was like, ‘Oh, I’m sorry.’”

It sounds odd for Brown to hurl an insult at J.J. Redick only to take it back after the latter rejects it. Isn’t the point of talking trash in basketball games is to get under an opponent’s skin?

In any case, Jaylen Brown just let his play do that talking in that London excursion, as he paced the Celtics with 21 points to go with four rebounds, two assists, and three steals to help Boston erase the Sixers’ 22-point lead in a 114-103 win. As for Redick, he led all scorers with 22 markers, albeit in a loss.

Brown and the Celtics are still playing, as they are in the midst of an Eastern Conference finals series with the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Redick and the Sixers are on an early vacation after getting eliminated by Boston in the second round of these playoffs.
