Chael Sonnen may not be the most reputable source when it comes to reporting facts. Although the former UFC middleweight did raise some questions about the boxing match from five years ago between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

There have been concerns in the past about some of Floyd Mayweather's business practices as he still has not paid Logan Paul for their boxing match. The UFC was a co-promoter with Mayweather back in 2017.

Chael Sonnen believes there have been some shady things involved with the boxing match against then UFC champion Conor McGregor. The former fighter spoke about it on his YouTube channel.

“They don’t know the numbers of McGregor vs Floyd. I have never with my own eyes witnessed a sporting event lied about more than the level of business that was McGregor vs Floyd. I was at the venue, personally. It did not sell out. I got my mother’s ticket the day of the fight – it wasn’t sold out, guys. That’s the truth nobody wants to talk about. The reason they didn’t rematch those guys is they didn’t win the first time, and I’m not looking to embarrass anyone’s business, two people went for it. I’m just sharing with you, Fury vs Ngannou, is not close to Mayweather vs McGregor, and that wasn’t close to what you were told it was. That’s the truth.”

It may take a long time for the facts to be revealed on the Mayweather-UFC co-promoted boxing match. Chael Sonnen may have just started an interesting story on the boxing vs MMA matches.
