Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn has never really hit the hot seat this season, though his job is certainly not 100 percent secure for next season. Most recently, Lynn's Chargers came up short at home against the rival Oakland Raiders with Los Angeles, notably playing its last game at Dignity Health Sports Park this past Sunday.

As one can imagine, Lynn was less than pleased with his team's performance against the Raiders as Los Angeles fell to a dismal 5-10 on the season.

“When you start out with two penalties, it’s a slow start,” Lynn recently told reporters, via USA TODAY Sports. “The first three drives were three-and-out. That wasn’t good. It wasn’t a lack of passion. It was lack of execution.”

While it seems as though the excused mount for the Chargers year after year, Los Angeles once again encountered an injury-plagued campaign that ravaged through the team's roster even before the 2019-20 regular season began. Not only that but veteran quarterback Philip Rivers isn't getting any younger and could very well be playing his final game as a member of the franchise on Sunday afternoon against the first-place Kansas City Chiefs.

“We’ve had a lot happen to this team in a lot of ways,” Lynn added, via USA TODAY Sports. “Just having a losing season stings. It stinks, too. We’re frustrated about that, but there’s nothing we can do about that right now.”

The Chargers were in the playoffs just a season ago while a full-on rebuild may be in order going forward.
