Talk about your blatant disrespect for a specific city.

Former San Diego Chargers great Dan Fouts doesn't ever want to be associated with the city of Los Angeles, his franchise's new home, via Ryan Phillips of The Big Lead.

“Don’t ever refer to me as a Los Angeles Charger,” Fouts replied. “I am proud to be a San Diego Charger.”

Fouts, 67, never needs an introduction. He's probably the most recognizable and greatest athlete in San Diego sports history.

In 15 NFL seasons, all with the San Deigo Chargers of the NFL, Fouts threw for 43,040 yards and 254 touchdowns to 242 interceptions. He also participated in seven playoff games, winning three.

Since retiring, Fouts took up space very nicely in the booth as a color man, continuing to work for CBS until this very day. His most recent tag-team partner is New York's own Ian Eagle, who represents one-half of the “Bird and the Beard (for Fouts's rich, long-lasting beard).”

The Los Angeles Chargers are already in Hollywood and soon, will have their very own (with the Rams) brand-spanking-new L.A. stadium to call home.

It just doesn't matter. Dan Fouts is and forever will be the great quarterback of the “San Diego” Chargers. The end.
