The Los Angeles Chargers are heading into their Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans as one of the hottest teams in the league behind their strong start to the 2018 campaign.

A major part of that has been the impressive play of Pro Bowl running back Melvin Gordon as a primary factor offensively. However, there is some attention now drawn to him after he went through practice on a limited basis on Friday due to a hamstring injury along with dealing with dehydration, according to Herbie Teope of NFL.com.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon showed up on Friday's injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans in London.

Gordon is officially listed as limited in practice with a hamstring injury, but coach Anthony Lynn told NFL Network's Melissa Stark that the running back was also dealing with dehydration.

This is a precautionary measure by the Chargers given that both situations for Gordon could snowball into something much greater if not handled correctly. The hamstring issue is an ailment that can linger if the team doesn't limit his physical activity while dehydration could lead to much worse as it could require him to get medical attention.

Gordon will likely be monitored closely over the next couple of days, but this shouldn't derail him being able to take the field for Sunday's game against the Titans that will be played in London. What is also worth noting is that the Chargers have a Week 8 bye that should give him plenty of time recuperate if needed.

He has been off to a strong start to the season showing to be an even more effective dual option out of the backfield as he's currently third in the league with 466 rushing yards and six rushing yards along with hauling in 30 receptions for 279 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
