The Chicago Bulls have been excellent all season, but they just can't seem to compete with other contending teams. This has caused a lot of doubts for the Bulls since if they want to be the team that everyone believes they can be, they'll have to compete against some of the NBA's best teams.

Chicago Bulls: 2 Bold Predictions For Rest Of 2021-22 NBA Season

2. DeMar DeRozan is voted second in the MVP race

DeMar DeRozan must continue to play at this high level if the Chicago Bulls are to have any chance in the playoffs. There's no denying that he has a legitimate shot at winning the MVP award this season, and it's ridiculous that he isn't getting the respect he deserves from some in the media.

The media and the rest of the NBA are starting to notice how ridiculous his numbers are, and he'll finish second in the MVP voting behind Philadelphia Sixers big man Joel Embiid.

There's no denying DeMar has been one of the best players in the NBA this season. The numbers that this guy has put up are simply incredible, and if Joel Embiid and even Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic weren't having such a strong season, DeMar would be the MVP without a doubt. Obviously, those players will continue to play at that level, and other players will have fantastic seasons, but DeMar DeRozan may have one of the best MVP seasons for a player who will not win the MVP.

1. The Bulls fall to the Nets or Celtics in the first round

Look, there's no doubting that the Chicago Bulls are a very good basketball team. However, they lack the same level of experience as some of the Eastern Conference's elite teams, and their lack of interior defense will be a huge issue for this team come postseason time.

When facing Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago will have no chance of slowing down any of these stars. They not only have a below-average interior defense, but they also lack wing players that can get stops on some of the bigger guys, which is a serious problem.

If the Bulls are stuck with playing the Nets or the Celtics in the first round, it's difficult to believe they will win. Except for the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago hasn't beaten a decent team all season, and if we're being honest, Kevin Durant isn't going to lose in the first round, especially against the Bulls.

Chicago is hoping to avoid facing any of the Eastern Conference's best teams in the first round and instead face a team like the Charlotte Hornets or the Cleveland Cavaliers, as that would be a much better series for them than the Philadelphia Sixers, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, or Brooklyn Nets.
