The Chiefs took the league by storm this past season on the back of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In his first season as a starter, Mahomes lit the league on fire and blew every other quarterback out of the water statistically.

He won the league's MVP award and electrified the NFL's fanbase with his routine highlight reel plays. Although Kansas City's season ended one play short of a Super Bowl trip, they've got plenty to be optimistic about. Mahomes is one of the faces of the league now, and everyone wants a piece.

In fact, Mahomes is so in demand, that one fan just paid $52,000 to have dinner with him, according to KMBC 9 News. Yes, you read that right.

“A fan paid $52,000 for a ‘MVP Experience with Mahomes' during the 15th annual Children’s Mercy Hopsital “Red Hot Night” fundraiser Saturday,” KMBC explains.

The description of the bidding was “an opportunity for 10 people to have a private and exclusive dining experience with Patrick and his girlfriend, Brittany.” It's a lot of dough to dish out for a dinner, but it went to a great cause, and it's nice to see Mahomes giving back like that.

Mahomes also donated other items for the event, including a signed jersey. When he's not taking fans to dinner, Mahomes will be busy preparing for the 2019 season. The Chiefs won't catch anybody by surprise this upcoming year and expectations will be sky-high. Everyone will have a target on their backs, and Mahomes will be under a lot of pressure to follow up on his MVP season. If anyone can handle that pressure though, it's Mahomes.
