Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has put on a show in his first season as the starter. After trading up in the 2017 NFL Draft to select Mahomes, the Chiefs made the bold move to trade last year's starter, Alex Smith, to the Washington Redskins. That trade opened up the path for Mahomes to become the Chiefs' lead man.

While some were critical of the move, the Chiefs are looking brilliant through four weeks. Mahomes has been an absolute monster and many believe that he is headed for an NFL MVP award.

For a young quarterback having so much success, some may wonder how the Chiefs keep their quarterback grounded. Mahomes opened up about one way the team has been keeping him humble. That would be by imitating and making fun of his voice, something that head coach Andy Reid happily joins in on.

Mahomes explained more about the voice imitation tactic in an interview with ESPN's Lisa Salters.

“If I'm ever getting too big of a head, they just kind of bring out the voice, you know — they try to mimic my voice. That's kind of gotten its thing in the locker room. Coach Reid does. He has the perfect imitation of the voice.”

Throughout the first four games of the 2018 season, Mahomes has posted an incredible stat line. He has completed 65.2 percent of his pass attempts for 1,200 yards, 14 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Kansas City looks to be a serious contender in the AFC this season. They are currently 4-0 under the leadership of Mahomes. Keeping that up and competing with teams like the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars is not going to be an easy task.

At 23 years old, Mahomes looks to be the next “big thing” in the NFL. He has a huge arm, and that huge arm is making a big name for the Texas Tech product.

Mahomes will lead the Chiefs against the Jaguars this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Make sure to tune in as the two AFC powerhouses try to make a statement.
