Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had a health scare after Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but things are looking up after he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Chiefs released a statement late Sunday night saying Reid was in stable condition at the hospital, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport followed up Monday morning with a report saying the coach is doing okay.

Here are the details from Rapaport:

Rapoport notes that Reid was dealing with dehydration and should be fine after rest. There will likely be another update from the Chiefs on Monday about the situation.

It's good to hear that this was nothing serious and that the longtime head coach should be okay. The Chiefs did the right thing by making sure he went to the hospital to get checked out, and it seems as if he shouldn't miss much time, if any.

Assuming he's okay, Kansas City would love to have the coach back as soon as possible in order to get ready for Week 4 after losing two games in a row. The Chiefs used to never lose in September, and now they've finished this month with brutal losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Chargers. Uncharacteristic mistakes and turnovers have played a role in these defeats, which have Kansas City sitting at 1-2 to start 2021.

Patrick Mahomes isn't worried right now, and for good reason. There's a lot of time left and this Chiefs team is still ridiculously talented, so if they clean up their issues they should be in line for another big season. Still, it's shocking to see Mahomes and Co. make some backbreaking mistakes when it matters.

Of course, all that matters at this moment is that Andy Reid gets healthy again. Let's hope for another positive update on Monday.
