After going through legal problems in the offseason, Frank Clark's status with the Kansas City Chiefs has finally been revealed by head coach Andy Reid.

During a virtual press conference Friday, Andy Reid told reporters that Clark will report to Chiefs training camp on Monday.

After the 2020-2021 season that ended with the Chiefs failing to retain the title, Clark was arrested in Beverly Hills, California, on suspicion of carrying an illegal firearm. He posted bond. He was then formally charged with possession of an assault weapon months after the arrest.

This news should not come to a surprise to many, since Clark's legal matter hasn't been resolved. When the case is finally closed, a proper suspension should be in order, reducing his time on the field for the Chiefs.

With the report of his arrest, the team decided to re-sign Alex Okafor to bolster the defensive end position. Don't be surprised if the Chiefs end up trading or signing another DE to provide a buffer for the future suspension or release of the former Seahawk.

Last season Clark notched a total of 6.0 sacks while gathering a total of 29 tackles. This year he will have to step it up as there could be a big chance that he be let go to help open up cap space for future contracts or free agent signings. The team desperately needs him to produce this upcoming season, as the Chiefs try to continue their dominance in the AFC. Any setbacks or disappointing production by Clark can ultimately lead up to his release or departure.

Only time will tell if he will have a breakout season, but we all know that Frank Clark has more important matters to tend to first. The Chiefs can wait.
