The Kansas City Chiefs already suffered a tough injury before training camp even started. Wide receiver Kadarius Toney suffered an injury, putting his status up in the air as camp begins. However, the Chiefs got a very important update on Toney's status, and the good news is that he should be ready to go by the regular season (h/t Adam Schefter of ESPN).

‘Chiefs’ WR Kadarius Toney — who underwent an off-season cleanup procedure on his knee — aggravated the injury Sunday while fielding a punt and is expected to miss some time during training camp but be ready for the start of the regular season, per league source.'

After Toney suffered the injury, questions swirled about the extent, and tight end Travis Kelce touched on his status as well. But this is a positive update, and all signs point to him being ready by the time the regular season begins in September.

After the New York Giants traded Toney to the Chiefs, the former first-round draft pick found his way with Patrick Mahomes throwing him passes. He played in seven games for the Chiefs and caught 14 passes with two touchdowns.

Toney also appeared in the playoffs, catching seven balls for 50 yards and a score in the Super Bowl, but his huge punt return was the highlight of the game for him.

With JuJu Smith-Schuster leaving in free agency and the Chiefs not being able to land DeAndre Hopkins, all signs point to Toney having a huge role in the offense for the 2023 season, so this injury update is somewhat promising.
