The 2023 NFL season got underway on Thursday night as the Detroit Lions took down the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. It was an exciting way for the season to begin as the game went down to the wire in Kansas City. The Lions ended up winning 21-20 and the Detroit defense got two huge late stops to hold on for the narrow victory. The Lions defense played a great game, but they did also get some help from the Chiefs' wide receivers, specifically Kadarius Toney. Toney had multiple bad drops in the game and perhaps one of the worst was on the first play of the last drive for the Chiefs. Toney was wide open and had a ball dropped right in the bread basket that would've put Kansas City into field goal range, and he dropped it. His worst drop, however, came on a 3rd and six when a perfectly placed pass from Patrick Mahomes went through Toney's hands and right to Brian Branch who took the ball 50 yards for a pick six. It was a bad night for Toney, and now his lowlights from the game are going viral.

Toney had multiple third down drops featured in the video, and NFL fans everywhere are talking about the historically poor performance. The Chiefs were without star tight end Travis Kelce in the game, and all the miscues from the WRs showed that Kansas City needs him back desperately.

The Chiefs and Kadarius Toney will now try to move on from this disappointing loss and bounce back on the 17th against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
