In what is another shocking result, the Kansas City Chiefs took down the New England Patriots in dominant fashion. However, this game was not only momentous for the Chiefs as they managed to take down a Super Bowl favorite in the Pats; they also managed to secure their playoff spot by clinching the AFC West.

The Athletic's Nate Taylor was one of the first to report the major victory the Chiefs scored in this game.

The Patriots definitely put up a fight against the Chiefs as they tried to get back in the game. In spite of his poor run of form, Tom Brady tried to force the team back to relevance. Unfortunately for him, his game was limited to a mere 169 yards, one passing touchdown, and one pick. This could either be a sign that Brady is on the decline or the Chiefs have just been outstanding on defense.

Patrick Mahomes also had a subpar night in the pocket, but at least he's performed better than his New England counterpart. He finished with 283 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception. While a lot is to be desired out of his performance, it's important to remember that he was facing a tough New England defense during this game. If it were any other team, he would have exploded to 400 yards without so much as breaking a sweat.

It's the receiving corps that must be given praise for the Chiefs win. Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and the rest of the receivers played well, making the New England defense guess as to which receiver will get the pass.

The AFC playoffs are shaping up to be one intense affair. With the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens playing incredible football, it's going to be tough for the Patriots to return to the Super Bowl this year.
