The Kansas City Chiefs are going to look quite a bit different on offense in 2022, having traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins and signing former Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, all in addition to drafting rookie Skyy Moore. While there are some new faces lining up on offense, there will also be some familiar ones in the mix. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs have re-signed running back Jerick McKinnon on a one-year deal following his explosive performance throughout the playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes will certainly be fired up about this move, as he leaned heavily upon the small, speedy running during the playoffs. Despite being a non-factor during the regular season, McKinnon starred in the playoffs, registering 34 rushes for 150 yards and catching 14 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown, acting as something of a secret weapon for Mahomes and the Chiefs.

While he probably won't see that same type of usage in 2022, he's still proven to be a valuable asset for Mahomes, who will be happy to have the 30-year-old back in town. McKinnon will be locked behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the depth chart, but he could still play an important role in the passing game, utilizing his blazing speed and reliable pass-catching skills to help mitigate the loss of Hill.

McKinnon has played for three NFL franchises throughout his career, having featured for the Vikings, 49ers, and Chiefs. In all, McKinnon has rushed 567 times for 2,299 yards and 12 touchdowns to go along with 188 receptions for 1,344 yards and seven touchdowns throughout a total of 87 games in the league.
