Patrick Mahomes may have willed his team to the Super Bowl this postseason and may have been named Super Bowl MVP after a three-touchdown performance on Sunday, but that doesn't mean he was necessarily the best player on the field

According to Pro Football Focus, Kansas City Chiefs starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz graded as the top-graded player this postseason with 92.8 PFF grade. Schwartz was followed by Mahomes with a 92.0 grade and San Fransisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa who graded out with a 90.1.

Schwartz has been one of the top offensive tackles in all of the NFL for the past few seasons. After being drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns and spending his first four seasons with the team, the 6-foot-5, 320-pound right tackle signed a five-year, $33 million deal with the Chiefs.

Since then, Schwartz has been dominant in the trenches for Kansas City. The former Cal star has been named to an NFL All-Pro team each of the last four seasons. After making All-Pro First Team in Kansas City while blocking for the league MVP, Schwartz was named to the second team this season.

This postseason, Schwartz and the Chiefs have had to battle against top pass rushers such as J.J. Watt, Harold Landry, and most recently, the four-headed monster of Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, and Dee Ford against San Fransisco.

Despite the tall task, Schwartz protected Mahomes better than anyone. Even though Mahomes was sacked seven times in three playoff games this season, most of them came from other holes on the offensive line.
