The Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of bowing out to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55. For his part, however, Patrick Mahomes has been nothing short of impressive in what was considered by many as the biggest game in his entire career thus far.
Mahomes hasn't scored a touchdown as of yet — but it isn't for a lack of trying. He's been on point for the defending champs all night long, which has left more than a few folks on the means streets of Twitter completely impressed.
According to Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic, it is clear to see that the Chiefs have played better than their opponents, and this is primarily because of Mahomes:
Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they have been on the wrong end of a couple of botched plays that as the above tweet states, would have given this game a much different tone.
Mahomes came up with one of the most memorable passes in Super Bowl history, only for the Chiefs to literally drop the ball in the end zone.
It is worth noting that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was also heavily criticized (by the Twitter experts, of course) for calling a couple of timeouts in the seconds quarter that led to a Bucs touchdown.
Needless to say, Mahomes has done everything in his power to will his side to victory. Unfortunately — barring a miraculous comeback late in the fourth — the Chiefs did not do enough to overcome Tom Brady and his Buccaneers.
