Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes makes his money with his cannon of a right arm, not his legs. When the Chiefs saw Mahomes struggle to have consistent pocket protection in the Super Bowl back in February, they added pieces in the offseason. One quarterback who made a living with his legs as much as his arm was Michael Vick. Vick's recent 40-yard dash time at 4o-years old had Mahomes speechless.

According to USA Today, Vick took part in Rich Eisen's ā€œRun Rich Runā€ charity event recently and decided to shoot his shot at the 40-yard dash. At the age of 40, Vick was clocked in at 4.72 seconds. Mahomes noticed.

When Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman found out what Mahomes' 40 time was, he chimed in only to have Mahomes clap back.

Vick was said to be disappointed in his own time. At age 40. Running a 4.82 40-yard dash time. Just about anyone else would take a victory lap with that time but Vick was expecting better. The full clip encapsulating a lot of the event can be found here.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, have gone out of their way this offseason to better protect their franchise quarterback. Kansas City went out and traded for Orlando Brown Jr. this offseason and also drafted Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey with a second round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Chiefs already have all the weapons in the world that a quarterback could want, and now they are making sure that Mahomes will be properly protected for the 2021 season.

The Chiefs season a year ago ended in a Super Bowl defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kansas City is looking to make a third straight Super Bowl appearance in 2021 and the hope is Mahomes won't have to be running around like Vick did after the new additions to their offensive line.
