The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost Tyreek Hill this offseason, but by the looks of it, the opening on the roster has given the other wideouts the opportunity to play and stand out. In fact, there is already one wide receiver that has taken Patrick Mahomes by surprise.

Before even trading Hill to the Miami Dolphins, the Chiefs signed Justin Watson to a one-year deal. While he has not been often talked about even after Hill was gone, he is apparently putting in the work to earn more playing time and become another weapon for Mahomes.

Sure enough, those efforts are paying off as Mahomes took notice of him.

“He’s been a pleasant surprise for me,” Mahomes said, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic. “That dude can roll. He came down to Texas. I threw with him the first day, and I called (General Manager Brett) Veach and I was like, ‘Wait, how fast is this guy?’ He was running so fast that I was late on my throws.”

Patrick Mahomes has been all praise for the Chiefs' receiving corps this offseason, which is certainly good news for the team and its fanbase.

There have been a lot of concerns for the Chiefs after it lost some key weapons this offseason. However, based on Mahomes' comments, the team could very well be just fine as they try to build another championship contender around their superstar quarterback.
