The Kansas City Chiefs started slow against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their wild card round matchup Sunday night. But once the train got rolling, it didn't stop. Mahomes ended up tossing five touchdown passes as the Chiefs defeated the Steelers, 42-21. In doing so, he joined some truly elite company.
Mahomes is now only the third quarterback in NFL history with multiple playoff games with five or more touchdown passes. Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner and former Pro Bowl quarterback Daryle Lamonica are the only two other players to accomplish that feat.

Lamonica is a player than many wondered over the years how he did not get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He finished his career 66-16 and helped lead the Buffalo Bills to three consecutive AFL title games in the mid-1960's before being traded to the Oakland Raiders. He then won the AFL Championship with Oakland, bringing them their first title.
Warner is better known. He won the Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams in 1999, leading ‘The Greatest Show on Turf.”
Mahomes has been setting records since he first took over the starting job in Kansas City. He is one of the youngest league MVP's in NFL history. Mahomes is also one of the youngest Super Bowl MVP's.
Mahomes and the Chiefs offense has got much better as the season has progressed after early struggles. Next week, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs at Arrowhead Stadium.
