Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs need to send a gift basket to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Miami Dolphins.

While the Chiefs cruised to victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, it's hard not to think they weren't scoreboard watching. The New England Patriots, as the major favorite, hosted the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.

The result?

Fitzpatrick leading an improbable drive with time waning to beat the Patriots in major upset fashion.

The Chiefs locked up the second seed in the AFC with their win and the Patriots' loss, meaning they will have a week to rest up before their playoff matchup. The Patriots will play in the Wild Card Round for the first time since 2009.

Mahomes' reaction to Fitzpatrick leading the Dolphins to the win only needed three words:

It's Fitzmagic, indeed.

The Chiefs, for the second year in a row, will have a first-round bye. They are playing their best football as of late recently, as their defense has come together to support a fiery offensive attack, led by Patrick Mahomes.

Now, the Chiefs get to stay home and watch the first round of the playoffs, which will feature the Patriots facing either the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers or Oakland Raiders. No longer does the AFC run through New England. Instead, it runs through the young quarterbacks in Kansas City and Baltimore, though the Patriots will likely have something to say about all this come playoff time.

Talk about a wild Sunday of NFL football.
