Patrick Mahomes has been absolutely unstoppable in his first two seasons as a full-time starter for the Kansas City Chiefs. Just because he's seemingly mastered the art of playing quarterback, Mahomes isn't satisfied with where he's at. After attempting to add new aspects to his game, Mahomes revealed the key to his success, per NFL Network's James Palmer.

Since entering the NFL in 2017, Patrick Mahomes has wowed fans with his distinct throwing angles. When watching him throw the football, it's evident that the gunslinging quarterback has a baseball background.

Besides playing baseball himself earlier in his life, his father played in the MLB. Even though throwing a football is different than a baseball, Patrick Mahomes has been able to implement baseball-esque motions into his game. And seeing how he's performed thus far, he's doing something right.

In the past two seasons, Patrick Mahomes has combined for 9,128 yards, 76 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. Above all, he led Kansas City to their first Super Bowl victory since 1969 just a season ago.

As a result of his success so far, the Chiefs made Patrick Mahomes the richest athlete in sports history earlier this offseason. At just 24 years old, Mahomes received a massive 10-year extension worth up to $503 million.

Some quarterbacks that are at the top of their game may get complacent due to the success they've already seen. However, for Patrick Mahomes, he isn't afraid to watch other quarterbacks and take tidbits from them to improve his game. In light of that, opposing defensive coordinators may need to prepare for a more polished version of Mahomes in 2020.
