Sammy Watkins wasn’t a top option on the Rams’ top-ranked offense last season. And despite Kansas City making him one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league in free agency, he’s also nowhere near the top weapon on the Chiefs’ prolific attack with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt all above him in the hierarchy.

Watkins says he’s not regretting his decision to sign with the Chiefs despite his place in the pecking order, though, and would do it all over again if he had the chance.

“Right now, I’m having my best season and best year with Kansas City,” Watkins said per Adam Teicher of ESPN. “You change teams and you always look at the schedule and what the record could be, and right now I think I’m in one of the best situations. We’re 9-1 with a chance of going to the playoffs and winning games and we’ve been doing it at a high level. I think I’m in the best situation right now.”

Through 10 games, Watkins is on pace for 62 catches, 824 yards, and five touchdowns. Those won't beat the career-best numbers he set in his first two years in the league with the Bills and clearly aren’t numbers expected from a receiver being paid $16 million per season.

Other players with bigger egos would likely make more of a stink about not getting enough touches. But Watkins doesn’t appear to be too concerned with his numbers.

Instead, he seems fully content to be a contributor on a potential Super Bowl contender while getting paid a lot of money, which, for the rational human being, is one great situation to be in.
