Tyreek Hill isn't out of the woods yet, and the Kansas City Chiefs are bracing for impending discipline. For a while, it seemed like Hill was sure to be suspended, possibly long term. It also looked for a while that the Chiefs were possibly going to cut Hill, but then things shifted in his favor.

The legal investigation stalled, and it doesn't appear Hill is going to face criminal charges for the incidents involving his young son. That being said, he's not in the clear with the league.

“The Chiefs believe Hill could receive a suspension from the NFL as soon as next month for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy,” per Nate Taylor of the Athletic.

If that's the case, it certainly makes sense, as the Chiefs have been seemingly making preparations for Hill's absence. They drafted Mecole Hardman out of Georgia in the second round, who could be a possible Hill replacement.

A while back it was reported that the Johnson County (Kan.) District Attorney’s office had reopened the criminal investigation into Hill, but that turned out not to be true. That doesn't mean he'll get a pass from Roger Goodell though, and there's a precedent for a suspension still.

A couple of years back, Ezekiel Elliott was slapped with a six-game suspension for a domestic violence incident, even though prosecutors said they didn't have enough evidence to press charges.

As of right now, it appears Hill's status on the team is safe. If the Chiefs were going to release Hill, they likely would've done so, unless new evidence emerges. Still, it sounds like Hill is facing a suspension from the league, and it's anyone's guess as to how long it will be.
