Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes knew his team wasn't out of the game after the Detroit Lions had a late score to take the lead, and gave a motivational speech to fire up the troops.

Before the team took the field down three in the 4th quarter Mahomes told his teammates to just do their job, and trust in their teammates. He pointed out that no one had to be a hero and if everyone did their job, they would come out with a victory.

The Chiefs drove down the field and it was a one-yard Darrel Williams touchdown with 23 seconds left that allowed them to come away with a victory.

After the game, Travis Kelce credited Mahomes for rallying the troops and leading the team to victory.

”As a leader on this team, [Mahomes] kept us collected and kept us with one goal in mind, and that’s to get the ball in the end zone no matter how long it takes us to get it there and whether it takes us one play or 16 plays, 20 plays,” tight end Travis Kelce said via Arrowhead Pride. “It doesn’t matter. We’re going north, and we’re getting the ball in that end zone. I think Pat does an unbelievable job of rallying the troops when we need it the most.”

The Chiefs haven't been playing from behind much with Mahomes under center, but it's clear that Mahomes also has the clutch gene that he believes in his team that they can get the job done late.
