After trading punches in the first half, the Kansas City Chiefs started the third quarter with 14 quick points before the Los Angeles Chargers struck back. It was only a matter of time before tight end Travis Kelce was able to make his presence felt.

Kelce was able to haul in a 23-yard strike from quarterback Patrick Mahomes while making sure to drag the toes and complete the catch, via Chiefs Twitter:

Plays like this are an example of why Kelce is widely considered to be the best tight end in the NFL. With wide receiver Tyreek Hill injured, he has had no problem stepping up as the No. 1 option in the passing game for Kansas City.

The Chiefs have now successfully managed to take control of this pivotal AFC West matchup. It is safe to assume that Mahomes will continue to rely heavily on the mismatch with Kelce to help put this one away.
