Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu lowered the boom on Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis during the second quarter of Sunday's AFC Championship Game, knocking him flat on his back and delivering one of the most lethal hits thus far in the postseason.

Mathieu's huge hit didn't keep Tennessee from eventually crossing the goal line later in the drive on a passing touchdown to lineman Dennis Kelly, but it was still a bone-crunching shot that fit within the parameters of legality.

In his first season with Kansas City, Mathieu has established himself as an integral part of the team's defensive unit. After spending the first five seasons of his career in Arizona and 2018 with the Texans, Mathieu now finds himself on the precipice of reaching the first Super Bowl of his career, where he is surely looking to further lower the boom.
