It appears that veteran big man Joakim Noah has done enough to guarantee his stint with the Los Angeles Clippers for the rest of the season.

NBA insider Sham Charania of The Athletic has just confirmed that the former two-time All-Star is set to sign a new deal with the Clippers by next week:

Noah signed a 10-day deal with LA on March 9, but due to the hiatus, he was unable to make his debut for the team. The season delay also pushed back the expiration of 10-day deals, which likely worked in the favor of the former Defensive Player of the Year winner. This gave the Clippers more time to assess what Noah can bring to the table, and fortunately for him, the front office's decision went in his favor.

The last we saw Noah in the NBA was with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, where he averaged a respectable 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in just 16.5 minutes of play. He is expected to play a similar role for the Clippers, if not even less. He will be the team's third-string center behind starter Ivica Zubac, and Sixth Man of the Year candidate Montrezl Harrell. Gone are the days of Noah being a double-double threat on a nightly basis, but his veteran presence still provides some value for LA.

The good news for Noah is that the Clippers are expected to contend for the title this term. Which means he should be in line for a great opportunity to win his first-ever championship in his 12-year career.
