It has just been confirmed that the Los Angeles Clippers will be without Kawhi Leonard for Tuesday's marquee matchup against the Boston Celtics. Leonard has been dealing with a sore back, and he will be given the night off against the Celtics because of the same.

This report comes via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints:

Prior to the game, Kawhi was seen warming up with his team. It was later revealed that he would be coming off the bench behind Reggie Jackson because of the back issue:

However, Leonard was nowhere to be seen when the game tipped off. It is probable that he did not like how his back felt after warm-ups which led to a concerted decision with the team to have him sit out the game.

This does not sound like a serious issue for the two-time Finals MVP, who has been on a roll for the Clippers of late. It appears to be nothing more than a typical night off for Leonard. Then again, you never know with Kawhi.

It is also worth noting that L.A. plays in one more game prior to the All-Star break. They are set to face off against the Washington Wizards on Thursday in the final leg of their current five-game road spell. It would not be surprising if the Clippers opt to have their superstar sit that one out as well.

It remains to be seen if this injury will have an effect on Leonard's playing time for the upcoming All-Star Game. Interestingly, he could actually play for former coach Doc Rivers during the contest, with the Philadelphia 76ers shot-caller tasked to coach Team Durant in this year's edition of the Game.
