For former NBA player Kendrick Perkins, the Los Angeles Clippers needs another center aside from Montrezl Harrell.

After the Clippers' 114-104 defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets, Perkins shared his thoughts via Twitter.

In a battle between two title contenders, it was the Nuggets who showed up. They exerted their dominance by outscoring the Clippers 37-22 in the second quarter. While the Doc Rivers-led squad tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, it was a little too late.

To recall, Perkins was part of the 2008 Boston Celtics squad which won the title under Rivers. It was a team comprised of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce.

Garnett, a former MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, was their anchor on defense. His defensive mindset trickled on over to the likes of Perkins.

The Clippers now hold a mediocre road-record of 10-9. While they still have a decent win-loss record of 27-13, their poor performance on the road has raised the eyebrows of fans and critics. After all, a legitimate title contender should be able to win both at home and on the road.

Perkins double-downed on his statement. For the Clippers to cure this weakness, they need to get a big who can defend.

Some fans have suggested that the Clippers need to get Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons. With the trade deadline approaching, teams have vested interest in acquiring the big man through a trade.

Time will only tell if the Clippers do indeed listen to Kendrick Perkins and the fans' suggestions. But one thing is clear: they need to improve their performance on the road.
