Sacramento Kings player development coach Rico Hines says Los Angeles Clippers center Montrezl Harrell’s “motor is impeccable.”

Hines runs the private pickup games at UCLA during the summer. He has known the Clippers big man since before Harrell was drafted in 2015.

Hines says Harrell “loves to compete at a high level” every time he steps on the court:

“I love his spirit,” Hines said, via Jovan Buha of The Athletic. “We’re both from North Carolina, so I understand him. I understand where he grew up. I understand everything about him. He’s just a wonderful country boy and I love that about him. His motor is impeccable. Every morning he’s always ready to play. He’s a competitor. He loves to compete at a high level. That’s the best thing about him.

“He cares about winning and losing. That’s the best part about the whole thing.”

The Clippers have four of the fiercest competitors in the NBA on their roster: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell. Opposing teams are going to have so much trouble scoring on the Clippers next season.

Every year, Harrell becomes a more polished offensive player. He averaged 16.6 points and 6.5 rebounds last season. Look for the 25-year-old to be even more effective for the Clippers next season after working out with Hines all summer.
