The L.A. Clippers have been able to somewhat step out of the shadow of the Los Angeles Lakers after Lob City made several postseason runs while the Lakers were in a decline.

Now boasting a hollowed-out roster with no Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan, it might be a different story moving forward — but don't tell that to Lou Williams.

The reigning Sixth Man of the Year thinks his team has an edge over their in-town rivals until they prove to take the throne of L.A.'s winningest team.

“I mean, the Lakers ain't beat us since I've been on the Clippers,” Williams told TMZ Sports. “So, record-wise, yeah, we are the better team in L.A. until they prove it.”

Williams is often soft-spoken, but never shy to say what's on his mind — especially when it is from a competitive standpoint.

The 6-foot-1 guard is coming off a career-year, posting 22.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game through 79 games during the 2017-18 season, his first with the Clippers.

Williams has also played for the Lakers for the majority of two seasons before being traded to the Houston Rockets in 2017, but the shifty guard won't be going anywhere soon after locking down a contract extension last season.
