It’s too early to tell whether L.A. Clippers power forward Montrezl Harrell is going to make it to Springfield, but based on the pair of kicks he wore in the game against the Washington Wizards Saturday night, the former Louisville Cardinal let a part Springfield come to him.

We’re not talking about THAT Springfield, where the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is located, however. Rather, it’s the fictional hometown of The Simpsons. See, Harrell sported an eye-catching, probably “What are those?”-reaction inducing pair of Nike HyperDunks, which had the face of Krusty the Clown emblazoned on them.

For what it’s worth, the shoes might have given the Clippers some bit of good luck, as they were able to stop a four-game losing skid with a 113-112 victory over the Wizards. Harrell played well, too, scoring 11 points and grabbing three rebounds in just 14 minutes of floor action.

Speaking of good luck, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers might want Harrell to wear the same shoes until the Clippers lose again. If a toaster worked for the Golden State Warriors why can’t a pair of sneakers act as a lucky charm for the Clippers?

The Clippers play again this Monday when they host the Toronto Raptors arrive at Staples Center.
